Cariboo school bus service cancelled due to poor road conditions

KAMLOOPS — Poor road conditions have prompted the Cariboo School District to cancel school bus service Thursday.

As a result, school buses will not be serving the Williams Lake and 100 Mile House areas including Big Lake and Horsefly. It’s the second straight day buses will remain parked though district schools will remain open.

As CFJC reported Wednesday, the Williams Lake Thompson Rivers University campus will be remain closed Thursday due to the inclement weather. It’s expected to reopen Friday.

Drive BC has issued a travel advisory for Highway 97 from 50 kilometres south of Williams Lake to 25 kilometres north of town due to compact ice.
