KAMLOOPS — RCMP are asking for the public's help tracking down a man wanted in a sexual assault that took place two years ago.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says Dolapo Ibukun Babatunde was arrested and charged shortly after the alleged assault in 2015.

Shelkie says police were in contact with him for about a year after his initial arrest, but have lost contact for about the past year.

"Police have been looking for him now quite a while and we haven't been able to locate him. We're not sure if he's still in Kamloops. We believe he's still in the province somewhere, though, and we'd just like to locate him."

Description of Dolapo Babatunde:

  • black
  • 5'7"
  • 150 pounds
  • dark hair and eyes

If you have seen him or know where he might be, you are asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.

Sun Peaks Family Practice opens, welcoming Kamloops residents soon
