KAMLOOPS — A scary incident for first responders in Lake Country.

Police and fire were attending to a crash on the highway near Pelmewash Parkway Sunday morning when a Dodge Ram pickup truck ran into a fire truck and two other vehicles.

Two firefighters had to dive out of harm's way while a snowmobile on the back of the pickup was launched 30 feet, landing on the highway.

Police believe the driver of the pickup may have fallen asleep.

The 23-year-old man of the North Okanagan Shuswap was uninjured, but was fined 11-hundred dollars for Motor Vehicle Act offences.
