KAMLOOPS — A missing Coquitlam dog walker and three dogs have been found alive and well almost 48 hours after she went missing.

More than 60 Search and Rescue crew members and RCMP members have been searching for 56-year-old Annette Poitras and three dogs since she went missing Monday afternoon.

Coquitlam RCMP say Poitras, who was found shortly before noon Wednesday, is well and talking but they are still trying to determine how best to bring her out safely.

“Right now she’s with rescuers, we’re proceeding to how to get the helicopter there,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin, media relations officer with Coquitlam RCMP.

Poitras is with three dogs – a collie named Chloe, a boxer named Roxy and a puggle named Bubba. They are alive and well also.

Poitras was last spoken to at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, when she said that she was taking the three dogs for a walk near her home in Westwood Plateau.
