KAMLOOPS —  Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision on the Yellowhead this morning about 18 kilometres north of Blue River.

South East District RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says it happened at around 8 a.m. and involved a minivan and a private tour bus.

"On attendance, RCMP investigators were able to determine that a northbound Dodge Caravan had crossed the centreline of the undivided highway and had collided with a southbound chartered/private tour bus," he says.

"It has been confirmed that the two occupants of the BC registered minivan, the male driver in his 60s and a female passenger in her 40s were pronounced deceased at the scene. One individual in the bus received minor injuries."

RCMP Traffic Services and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.

According to Drive BC, the highway fully reopened at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
