KAMLOOPS β€” A 26 year old man suspected of being the driver of a vehicle that slammed into a Brocklehurst apartment building Sunday is facing a series of charges.

The man was arrested yesterday, hours after a black BMW careened off Tranquille Road near Holt Street, colliding violently with the building.

No driver was at the scene when police arrived to investigate.

Two children and one adult inside the building sustained minor injuries.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the suspect was arrested without incident Sunday afternoon.

β€œThe 26 year old man now faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and also breaching a conditional sentence order. There will also be further charges recommended under the motor vehicle act.”

Shelkie notes investigators are still trying to determine what factors caused the crash, but speed was likely one of them.

Structural engineers are also working to determine the extent of the damage to the building.
