ARMSTRONG — A homeless man from Armstrong is on trial for allegedly stabbing a man who took him home to give him a hot meal and a warm night's sleep.

Maurice Taillon has pled not guilty to assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault .

Spallumcheen resident Cameron Ormiston befriended Taillon in November 2014, and took him back to his rental home for a meal.

However, after some drinking that night, Taillon wouldn't go to sleep, and Ormiston tried to kick him out.

That's when Taillon allegedly stabbed him in the chest, and Ormiston was rushed to hospital.

Taillon was arrested without incident the next day in Armstrong.
