CLINTON, B.C. — Another major evacuation order has been lifted.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District says, as of 4:00 this afternoon, residents north of Cache Creek, including the Village of Clinton and residents to the north, can return home.

The TNRD says the imminent threat posed by the Elephant Hill wildfire has eased in that particular area.

The move also means closures on Highway 97 and 99 in the area will be lifted, though officials say they hope those routes are restricted to local traffic this afternoon.
