KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say the pin of a smoke grenade left in Lower Sahali yesterday had been pulled - but the device misfired.

That's why officers treated the device gingerly, cordoning off an area of Grandview Terrace and calling in the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit to deal with the grenade.

EDU members seized the ordnance and disposed of it, confirming it was a smoke grenade.

Investigators are now trying to determine where the device came from.

Police are looking for help from the public as they try to figure out who the grenade's previous owner was.
