Blazers Jackson Shepard playing for gold at Hlinka Cup

KAMLOOPS — Blazers forward Jackson Shepard and Team Canada are going to the gold medal game at the Ivan Hlinka Cup under-18 hockey tournament

Canada broke a 1-1 tie with under 12 minutes left and went on to defeat Sweden 4-1 in the semifinals.

It was the first loss for Sweden which had gone 3-and-0 in the preliminary round.

Canada will play the Czech Republic for the gold medal.

Jackson Shepard has been held off the scoresheet in Canada's first four games.
