KAMLOOPS — RCMP have an inmate back in custody after she tried to flee from officers during a medical checkup at Royal Inland Hospital.

Police say the woman was getting checked at the emergency department during the noon hour today when officers had to respond to an unrelated incident.

The woman took off, and police brought in extra officers and the canine unit to find her.

Investigators say the woman was corralled within an hour.

RCMP identify the woman as 25 year old Tasha Nicole Viehoefer, and say she was initially facing charges of identity theft and obstructing a peace officer.

They say more charges are being put forward as a result of today's activities.
