KAMLOOPS — The province has announced $1 million to expand care for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at a Kamloops-area facility.

The funding is designated to build new accommodations at Honour Ranch north of Kamloops.

Honour Ranch opened last fall and is meant to help first responders and military personnel having difficulty coping with the mental health trauma they have suffered on the job.

It is operated by the Honour House Society, which also operates temporary housing for those receiving medical care and treatment for PTSD in the Metro Vancouver area.
