KAMLOOPS — The most seriously injured in an accident last night was a power pole.

But that injured pole caused a large power outage that affected most of Westsyde for close to an hour last night.

About 6:45 last night, RCMP say a vehicle hit a power pole at the intersection of Westsyde Road and Collingwood Drive.

The resulting power outage affected over 4,000 customers from Halston right through to Pinesprings, almost at the end of  Westsyde.

RCMP say the accident wasn't a serious one, but the way the vehicle hit the pole resulted in the lines being compromised, causing the outage.

Power was back on just after 7:30 PM.
