U.S. beats Canada to capture third straight World Sledge Hockey Challenge
CHARLOTTETOWN — Brody Roybal had two goals and an assist as the United States defeated Canada 5-2 Saturday in the World Sledge Hockey Challenge final.
After Canada’s Liam Hickey scored the only goal of the first period, the United States broke the game open in the second.
Kevin McKee, Paul Schaus and Roybal scored within the first 3:02 of the second to surge into the lead. Roybal’s second of the game at 11:40 game the Americans a 4-1 lead.
Brad Bowden got a goal back for Canada at 12:01 of the period, but Declan Farmer restored the Americans’ three-goal cushion with a power-play goal at 14:22.
