Sun Peaks to launch delayed winter season this Saturday

SUN PEAKS, B.C. — Sun Peaks Resort has announced its new opening day for the 2016-17 winter season.

Ski bums and snowboarders can hit the slopes as of this Saturday, November 26.

The resort was forced to push back its planned November 19 start date because unseasonably mild temperatures had left the mountain devoid of snow, and had made it impossible to manufacture artificial snow.

In a news release, the resort says the forecast looks promising leading up to this Saturday, calling for both natural snow and cooler temperatures.
