VANCOUVER —    Close to one-thousand extreme weather shelter spaces will be opened up with new funding from the provincial government.
The B-C government says 1.6-million dollars is being spent across the province this winter to ensure additional shelters for the homeless population can be ready when extreme weather alerts are in effect.
These spaces will be opened in addition to the nearly 2-thousand permanent spaces that exist across the province year-round.
Details about the locations of these shelters can be found online through the B-C Housing website. (The Canadian Press)
