One dead, one in hospital after pedestrian accidents in Surrey

SURREY —   One pedestrian is dead and another has serious injuries after separate accidents last night in Surrey.
    R-C-M-P say a 66-year-old man died at the scene after being hit by a minivan while crossing outside a crosswalk (on King George Boulevard and 96th Avenue.)
    That crash happened just before 9 p.m., less than three hours after a woman in a marked crosswalk was hit by a car in Surrey’s Guildford area.
    In both cases, police say the drivers stayed at the scene and are co-operating with the investigations.
