KAMLOOPS — It’s a true sign of summer, the 23rd annual Music in the Park kicks off at Riverside Park this weekend.

From July 1st to August 31st, Kamloops residents and tourists will get the chance to take in 62 free performances, showcasing a variety of talented artists, inlcuding some local entertainers.

“I try to get a little bit of everything, this year country’s a little more popular we have some more country acts, blues, jazz, folk, roots, whatever I can do to mix it up for different age groups,” says Henry Small, Music in the Park Coordinator.

Over the years, Music in the Park has been a highly successful summer event, offering entertainment every night of the week. Coordinator Henry Small says it’s the longest running series of its kind in all of North America, and for good reason.

“It’s just a great place to bring your family, it’s inexpensive, cheap, free for Music in the Park, and you get to spend time, you see grandparents with kids running around, and music is great especially in the summer,” says Small.

Evening performances are held at the Rotary Bandshell from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm – July 1st until August 31st. For a list of performances, click here
