KAMLOOPS — As the hockey world mourns the passing of Gordie Howe, who died on Friday morning at the age of 88, there are many in Kamloops that have been impacted by Mr. Hockey.

Over the years, Howe came to the Tournament Capital a few times following his 33-year pro hockey career was over. Currently Blazers head coach Don Hay was touched by his many interactions with Mr. Hockey during his time with the Vancouver Giants.

Another Blazers coach actually played with Howe during his NHL career.
