MERRITT, B.C. — Longtime Merritt-area MLA Harry Lali says he's ready to return to Victoria.

Lali announced today he will seek the NDP nomination in Fraser-Nicola ahead of next year's provincial election.

The former highways minister says, after losing to Liberal Jackie Tegart in 2013, he's ready to take her on again.

"We have had very ineffective representation from the current Liberal MLA. I mean, she's like a puppet whose strings are pulled by Cabinet and Christy Clark right from Victoria," Lali told CFJC Today.

Lali adds he believes Tegart has been especially ineffective representing local residents in the Nicola Valley biosolids issue.

Lali was an 18 year NDP MLA for Fraser-Nicola and the former Yale-Lillooet riding.
