KAMLOOPS — This weekend is sure to be hopping at the Kamloops Food Bank. They’re preparing for the first of the bi-annual Rotary Food Drives of 2016, which is taking place tomorrow.

The food drive is an important event for the Food Bank. In the past the event has netted over 60,000 pounds of food (over 30 tonnes) which keeps the shelves stocked for months. Bernadette Siracky says it’s a hugely important event for the Food Bank.

“Each Food Drive gives up about three months worth of non-perishable product that we’re able to give out to our clients, so they’re very necessary,” Siracky told CFJC Today.
