Police helicopter helps nab alleged car thief

KAMLOOPS — A 24 year old man remains in police custody and is facing charges of possession of stolen property. 

The incident happened yesterday on the North Shore, "It was reported to the Kamloops RCMP that a pick-up had been stolen. This morning a citizen of the North Shore called us to report that he saw three people acting suspicious near his home," said Corporal Jodi Shelkie. 

The tip also provided police with a license plate number that matched the stolen vehicle from yesterday, April 18. 

Air Four, the police helicopter was called to the area, and tracked three suspects to a private residence. 

Police then attended the area on ground, and took a 24 year old male into custody and have charged him with possession of stolen property and fail to comply with an undertaking. 

The suspect is being held for a court date tomorrow, April 20, and he is previously known to police.
