Chiduuro defeats Gordon in TRUSU elections

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University has a new Students Union president. 

Brian Chiduuro took approximately 49 per cent of the vote, beating incumbent president Melissa Gordon. 

According to TRU student newspaper, The Omega, Chiduuro’s Student Advocacy Coalition slate was elected to seven of 13 seats within the student union.

Voting turnout was 18.8 per cent, the highest it’s been since 2011.
