Early morning assault in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a male and a female have been arrested for assault with a weapon./

Sergeant Darren Michels says early this morning an officer was flagged down on 8th Street by a male who claimed he had been assaulted with a knife.

Michels says the victim was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A subsequent Police investigation at an address on Cumberland Place led to the arrest of a man and a 31 year old female.

She is being held in custody facing charges of assault with a weapon and will be making a court appearance later today.

Police are looking for a second suspect and is asking any witnesses to come forward.
