Chase dirt bike accident victim identified

CHASE, B.C. — The BC Coroners Service has identified the man killed in a crash near Chase last Saturday.

He was 19-year-old Austin Logan Schmidt of Chase.

Schmidt was driving a dirt bike on the Trans Canada Highway in Chase Saturday morning when it collided head-on with a semi truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and the coroners service continue to investigate.

A celebration of life for the teen is being held at the Adams Lake Gymnasium in Chase at 2 pm Saturday, February 13th. Those in attendance are asked to wear colours, and not black.
