KAMLOOPS — We have lost another pillar in its arts community.

Long-time music teacher, and past-President of the Kamloops Festival of the Performing Arts, Marilyn Wiwcharuk, passed away yesterday after a fight with cancer.

Wiwcharuk was a tireless fighter on behalf of the Arts Community and was one of those instrumental in keeping the Festival of the Arts going during struggling financial times.

This year’s Festival takes place starting February 28th. Wiwcharuk was 70 at the time of her passing.
