KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say on January 1st before 8 am an officer driving on Lansdowne Street spotted a two vehicle incident on the side of the road.

Corporal Jodi Shelkie says the male officer investigated and noted both vehicles were damaged.

One of the  vehicles was parked and had rear end damage.

A second vehicle was pushed up against a pole next to the other vehicle.

Cpl. Shelkie says neither of the vehicles had occupants inside.

Upon further investigation the owner of the parked vehicle came out. She told police that she had heard a crash earlier but didn't realize it was her car.

When police followed up with the owner of the vehicle that hit the parked vehicle, he wasn't aware that his vehicle was gone.

Cpl. Shelkie says RCMP is still investigating as to whether the vehicle was stolen.
