Stankoven talks facing Ovechkin in swan-song season, tallying first NHL hat-trick against Canucks
Logan Stankoven and his Carolina Hurricanes are scheduled to play the Washington Capitals four times during the 2026-2027 NHL regular season.
Stankoven grew up watching Capitals’ great Alexander Ovechkin, who will retire at the end of this season. The Stanley Cup champion forward from Kamloops is relishing the opportunity to play against the NHL’s all-time leader in goals in his swan-song season.
Carolina (5-1-1) is scheduled to host to Washington (3-2-0) on Tuesday [Oct. 13] in Raleigh, North Carolina.
