Man wanted on numerous warrants for assault arrested in Barriere

BARRIERE, B.C. — A 58-year-old man in Barriere was taken into custody Tuesday (April 23) after having several outstanding arrest warrants for assault.
In a brief news release issued Wednesday morning, Barriere RCMP say they requested the help of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team due to the high risk posed by the man.
Police say the man exited his home on Creekside Road in Barriere and was arrested without incident. He remains in custody as his matters are before the courts.
Police say no further information will be provided due to the case being an open investigation.
