KAMLOOPS β€” Kamloops Fire Rescue crews quickly extinguished a vehicle fire along Battle Street West yesterday (Oct. 27) afternoon.

KFR platoon captain Shawn Davidson says around 5:15 p.m emergency crews responded to a car on fire along the hillside of Battle Street West, between Lee Road and Strathcona Terrace.

β€œThe occupant was driving their vehicle and all of a sudden something happened underneath the hood and caused an engine fire. They pulled over on the side of the road and got out as quickly as they could, we showed up, and put the fire out.”

Davidson says the fire started while the person was driving around, and other drivers alerted them to the smoke and steam coming from under their hood.
