Recreational vehicle fire strands campers

KAMLOOPS – A relaxing day at a campsite, turned into anything but relaxing when a recreational vehicle went up in flames, trapping campers at the Badger Lake Recreational site early Sunday afternoon.

The R-V began burning on the only road into and out of the campsite, located approximately 20 kilometres south of Barriere.

The fire spread to the nearby grass but failed to take hold in the forest and create an even more dangerous situation.

RCMP were called out to the scene to investigate the incident. Authorities are clearing the road to allow campers to use the road.

It’s not clear how the fire began.
