CHASE, B.C. — More than $12,000 worth of stolen dog and cat food has been seized from a rural property near Scotch Creek.

Chase RCMP say in a news release that a third search warrant at the property in the 4000-block of Leopold Road was executed July 12.

During a previous search on June 21, police noted a “suspiciously large amount” of dog and cat food on the property.

In that search, police seized a cache of firearms and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property.

In the following days, investigators determined the pet food was related to a theft reported in Delta this past April.

“Hundreds of bags of dog and cat food [were] recovered during the search with a total value of $12,700.00,” RCMP say.

At this time no charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
