VERNON, B.C. — A North Okanagan RCMP officer has been fined after pleading guilty to a driving offence while on the job.
Constable Megan Valenta was operating an RCMP truck in August 2016 when it collided with a motorcycle on Highway 6 in Lavington, injuring a Kelowna man and woman on the bike.
The Lumby Mountie was charged with driving without due care and attention under the Motor Vehicle Act, after a review by the Independent Investigations Office.
Valenta pleaded guilty in provincial court Wednesday to committing an unsafe U-turn under the same act, and was fined $750.
