Operation Red Nose hoping to close out 2017 on a strong note

KAMLOOPS — It was a busy weekend for Operation Red Nose ahead of Christmas.

Katie Klassen, Operation Red Nose Coordinator says the service has been kept busy, driving home holiday revellers throughout the Christmas season, with all donations helping the athletes of Pacific Sport.

“We’re over the 1000-ride mark,” Klassen told CFJC Today. “We still have four nights, going into this weekend, so we’re hoping to get to that 1300 – 1375 ride mark for the whole campaign.”

Klassen says with New Year’s Eve still on the horizon, the service is looking for more volunteers to round out their ranks come the big night – but if you’re hoping to volunteer, it’s important to get the paperwork done so you’re able to hit the roads.

“New Year’s Eve is always our busiest night, especially between that 12:00 am and 2:00 am mark. That’s when everybody wants to get home safely. We definitely need as many teams on the road as possible, and right now we’re still looking for volunteers.”
