Art takes centre stage at Kamloops Culture Days
KAMLOOPS — Residents will have a chance to learn a new art form and take in various exhibits as part of this weekend’s seventh annual ‘Culture Days’ celebration.
The three day event, taking place throughout the city, aims to connect artists with the commmunity and inspire residents to explore the city’s art scene.
The event first started back east and has now grown nationwide.
“It started out in Quebec over 20 years ago and now each province in Canada celebrates on the last Friday of September,” said Cara Gates, Arts, Culture & Heritage Coordinator for the City of Kamloops. “Everybody is planning events that are free to the community to find out what’s happening in the community.”
