Kamloops Fire Rescue on high alert as small fires pop up
KAMLOOPS — A small, but aggressive grassfire broke out between Highway 1 and the South Thompson River near Highland Drive.
Kamloops Fire Rescue crews rushed to the scene shortly after 4pm, but their efforts were complicated by two trains passing through the area.
No buildings or structures were located near the fire.
Platoon Captain Darryl Cooper says Kamloops Fire Rescue sent a lot of resources, and were able to snuff the fire relatively quickly.
