KAMLOOPS — Hundreds of Kamloops residents in search of work came together at a job fair on Wednesday hosted by the Open Door Group.

People had the opportunity to visit 45 employers that were at the fair at the Doubletree Hilton downtown. With school drawing to a close, people are looking for seasonal work in Kamloops.

“We’re definitely seeing now moving into the spring, we’re seeing more seasonal employers in tourism and hospitality that are hiring,” said Blair Gray from the Open Door Group. “So it’s definitely a good time to get out there and look for employment.”

For anyone looking for a job, the Open Door Group suggests doing research and knowing about the employer you’re pursuing.

“The best thing to do when you’re trying to target a specific employer is really make sure the employer’s aware that you have researched them and that your resume and cover letter are targeted to that specific employer,” said Gray.
