SURREY— Surrey RCMP remain on scene at a North Surrey house after a standoff in a residential neighbourhood.
Police said they responded to reports of an assault in 14200-block of Melrose Drive around 11 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, a 27-year-old man barricaded himself inside the home and refused to speak with officers. The neighbourhood was on lockdown for several hours as heavily-armed officers arrived on scene.
Police said they have a man in custody but wouldn’t say if it’s the same man who barricaded himself inside the home.
