PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Mounties have one suspect in custody following a targeted shooting early last Friday night (June 10) in the 700 block of Freeman Street in Prince George.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says the investigation is ongoing. “The Prince George RCMP now believe that multiple persons with firearms made their way to this residence on Freeman street at which time there was an exchange of gunfire between them and one or more persons in this residence.” he said. “One of those persons, a 25 year old Prince George male is in custody.”

The suspect appeared in court Monday on a number of drug and weapons charges. Although there are no injuries from the incident, at least one bullet found its way into a nearby home, narrowly missing the occupants, two adults and two children.

Three people in the targeted residence escaped the incident unharmed and are detained as part of the investigation. Police obtained a search warrant for the home locating a quantity of illicit drugs, cash, and evidence of drug trafficking.
