Wolfpack hang on for win over Cougars
KAMLOOPS — A win is a win but if you ask the head coach of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team: the result wasn’t a product of the effort.
Scott Clark was not a happy man after his WolfPack came away with an 88-76 win over the visiting Mount Royal University Cougars on the Warner Rentals Court on Friday night (Jan 22). The result at the Tournament Capital Centre extended TRU’s Explorer Division record to 11-2 while the Cougars fall to 5-8.
“Mount Royal outplayed us and deserved to win,’ stated Clark. “ They out efforted us. They were full value. Tommorrow (Sat) we need a much better effort. We played fine but they put forth a better effort than we did. Our efforts were not even close to being satisfactory.”
“We couldn’t contain Wolfram (Josh, 5th year, forward, Kamloops, BC) or Pribilsky (Reese, 5th year, guard, Victoria, BC),” explained Royals head coach Marc Dobieil. “They really hurt us. We turned the ball over too much as well. We have to do that less in order to be successful.”
