Former Silicon Valley star T.J. Miller was arrested late Monday night at LaGuardia Airport for providing false information to federal agents.

He reportedly called in a false bomb threat from an Amtrak train. He was charged with intentionally conveying false information about an explosive device on a train en route to New York from Washington, D.C.

  • The 36-year-old was escorted out of the airport by authorities according to video obtained by TMZ, and reportedly transported to a New Haven federal courthouse. He was released Tuesday morning after posting the $100K bail.
  • Miller allegedly called 911 on March 18th, reporting that a fellow Amtrak passenger “had a bomb in her bag.” When the dispatcher detected slurring in Miller’s voice, he claimed he had consumed “one glass of red wine” that day.
  • When asked if he suffered from mental illness, he said, “’no, absolutely not. This is the first time I’ve ever made a call like this before. I am worried for everyone on that train. Someone has to check that lady out.”
  • Investigators reportedly stopped and searched the train in Connecticut, but found no evidence of a threat. When authorities interviewed a train attendant, the attendant reported that Miller had appeared drunk when he boarded the train, had consumed several drinks onboard and then had to be removed from the train in New York due to his intoxication. The attendant also noted that Miller had been involved with “hostile exchanges” with the woman he claimed had a bomb.
  • The charge Miller faces carries a maximum five-year term of imprisonment. The FBI is investigating, along with Connecticut State Police, Amtrak and the MTA.
  • It has been a rough year for Miller, who was recently ousted from HBO‘s Silicon Valley, reportedly after appearing intoxicated on-set. A woman he attended college with also claimed he repeatedly physically and sexually assaulted her when they were students together, a claim he denies.
