December 2, 1924 – May 29, 2016

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing or our dear Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather Bill Zachary. He was surrounded by his Loving Family in R.I.H. He just celebrated his 70th Wedding anniversary April 27, with the Love of his life, Elsie. He was born in Poplar Bluff Saskatchewan. He moved to Armstrong BC in 1946 with his expectant bride, because there were good jobs there. In the Fall of 1947, they moved to Vernon. In 1957, Bill got a job with the Inland Natural Gas Co. In 1964 they moved to Kamloops when he was offered a High Pressure Gas welder job with the Gas Co. “He Loved his Job.” He retired (after 30 years) in 1987 when he was “62 1/2 years Old” We heard of one Heroic adventure: He ran into a burning building to turn off the gas. Our Hero!

Besides loving & providing for his Family, Friends, Church, Hunting, Fishing, tinkering on cars and Driving “Actually I Do Own the Road”. Their Motorhome Vacations were Legendary! He would always be seen plowing the snow from the neighbors’ homes. Every year he & Mom would sing to us “Happy Birthday & Anniversary” on the Accordion, Violin or, Tsymbaly. The many “Life lessons” he taught us are passed on to our Children, Grandchildren & Friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Elsie, daughters Cathy & Maggie (& Mike), and sons, Don (& Mars) and Steve (& Jennifer). His brothers Alex & Terry live in Kamloops & Sister Marie in Saskatchewan. He took tremendous pride in his Grandchildren: Dustin, Jason, Alysia (& Liam), Kristina (& Savonn) with their Great Grandchildren: Lucas & Mikayla.

Prayers will be recited in the Ukrainian Catholic Church, 109 Tranquille Road North Kamloops, on Friday June 3rd at 7:00 Pm.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Trinity Ukranian Catholic Church Saturday June 4th at 1:00 pm.  Celebrant Father Pavlo officiating.
