In Loving Memory of Gerald William (Jay) Yoerger

April 15, 1937 – March 10, 2018

Gerald William Yoerger of Clearwater, British Columbia, passed away on March 10, 2018 in Kamloops, BC at 80 years of age. He was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on April 15, 1937.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Arlee. His children Russell (Patricia) Yoerger, Lorne Yoerger, Gerri Dohms. Gerald will be truly missed by his grandchildren Caleb, Bonnie, Stephanie and Liam, his great grandchildren Seth, Lucy, Marlee and Cal, as well as siblings Dorothy (John) Jost and Arleigh Bennett.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Russell Yoerger, brothers Keith Yoerger, Orville, John and Walter, sisters Esther, Shirley and Phyllis.

Jay grew up in Vancouver when it was a lot smaller than it is now. He moved to the North Thompson Valley and lived in Vavenby, BC, later moving to Clearwater, BC. He worked for the sawmills, first at CTP, Clearwater Timber Products and then for Slocan. Jay moved up the ladder from where he started as a fork lift operator and moved on to a Lead Hand.

He worked hard during his lifetime. He was gracious, kind and always family oriented. Jay was a supportive husband in all the endeavours and adventures his family had. He loved his children, grand children and great grand children. Jay was willing and helpful if you ever needed him.

Private family arrangements have been made for A Celebration of Life at a future date.
