September 8, 1923 – April 15, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rolf Witte on April 15, 2017 at the age of 93. Rolf is survived by his partner of 17 years Elisabeth and her children Frauke, Bernhart, Antje and Barbara, his sister Ilka, his loving daughter Anne (Lorne), grandchildren, Michael, Tanya (Kelly), Christopher (Shauna), Amanda (Molly) and great grandchildren, Dylan, Alayna, Mackenzie, Macey, Liam, Avery, Cadence, and Gray. Rolf was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Pat and by his brother Egon. Rolf was born in Wuppertal, Germany and joined the army at age 18 and eventually taken as a prisoner of war to Scotland where he met and married Pat in 1950. They immigrated to Canada in 1965 and he worked at Purity Feed until his retirement. Rolf was a lay priest at St John Vianney Parish and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Rolf loved going to The Spa until his health started to decline. He enjoyed watching hockey and tennis. He loved to sing and he and Elisabeth sang in the German choir. Rolf was a kind and gentle man and he will be greatly missed by us all.
