Mr. William Edward (Bill) Dale of Kamloops, B.C., passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C., on March 6, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his sons Michael (Bonnie) and Robin (Nicole) Dale, grandchildren Liam, Corbin, Miranda, and Brianne, brother Robert (Cheryl) Dale, and sister Dianne (Dale) Fawkes (Augustine); as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years (plus many years before that) Janis Dale in 2012 due to her battle with Lung Cancer.
Bill requested that there be no formal service. Should friends or family desire, donations may be made in his honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, a group he has been a passionate supporter of since before his wife’s passing.
Bill grew up in the lower mainland in the Haney/Maple Ridge area, where he attended the majority of his schooling, and also met his future wife, Janis. His family later moved into the B.C. interior, first into the Cariboo region, and then to Kamloops for continued work in the logging industry. They also started the company Dale & Sons Logging with his father Ed and brother Bob.
Bill spent many years in the logging industry and thoroughly enjoyed his main role as the primary logging truck driver for Dale & Sons Logging. He later converted his logging truck to a dump box and continued to drive his truck for local Kamloops landscaping and construction companies up until he was 78 years old. He still held his Class 1 driver’s license up until his passing.
In addition to logging, Bill was passionate about classic cars, and in particular Mopar (Chrysler) muscle cars, of which he has owned several. This passion was re-ignited when his boys turned 16, and led to the family enjoying many car shows and drag racing at the local track in Ashcroft, B.C.
Bill led an amazing life and was a big part of his grandkids lives. Unfortunately, it ended in a rapid manner due to complications stemming from a rare Cancer. We will miss him immensely.
