November 14, 1926 – March 2, 2019
Patricia (Pat) West passed away peacefully in her home in Ashcroft on March 2. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Joe) Hampton, four grandchildren: Jeff (Kim) Hampton, Matt Hampton, Mark (Shaleen) West, Katy (Chuck) Dougherty, and four great grandchildren: Alison and Audrey Hampton and Ty and Lee West. She is predeceased by her husband Lloyd (2006) and her son Steve (2018).
Pat moved with her family from Washington State to the Half Circle Bar Ranch at the edge of Clinton in 1965, so their kids could live at home and go to school, and not be boarded out. Pat was instrumental in starting and continued to be very active in several organizations including the Clinton Hospital (Health) Auxiliary and the Clinton Cattlebelles. She was on the hospital board for many years, including during the building of the new Ashcroft hospital. She promoted the cattle industry on the Kamloops TV station, and put on several entertainment shows (fundraisers) for the hospital auxiliary.
The family thanks everyone for their kind thoughts, cards, phone calls, flowers and prayers. There will be no service. If you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice. We can’t thank Thompson View Lodge enough for the compassion and care given to their residents. Mom loved living there (7 years), being spoiled and having all her favourite things in her own apartment. The management and staff went above and beyond to make her comfortable in her final days. The family also thanks the Ashcroft Home Health Nursing and Ashcroft Hospice for the attention to her comfort and the support for her family. We are so grateful.
