February 17, 1928 – February 28, 2025
Violet went ‘Home’ to be with her Lord and Savior at 97 years of age.
She leaves behind her children: Lester (Shannon), Lorimer (Val), Louise (Ed), Jon (Sheila), Jean (Robbie), Judi (Don), Shar, 27 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Violet was born in Vancouver BC and spent the majority of her young life there, with some brief time in Kamloops and Kelowna.
Violet and her late husband Roy met and married in Vancouver and then moved north to follow God’s leading to start a church in Hudson’s Hope, where they also raised their six children. Violet was also a teacher in both public and Christian schools for many years and loved by all her students.
After Roy passed away, Violet was able to fulfill another life dream to serve as a missionary in Thailand for three years at the age of 73. She then came back home and spent her last 20 plus years with her family, and serving the Lord wherever she could. All who knew Violet, knew that her mission in life was to ‘Go and preach the gospel to all nations’
A memorial service will be held at Kamloops Christ Community Church (1132-Eighth St.) on April 19/25 at 2:00 p.m. Internment to follow on May 24/25 at 2:00 p.m. in Hudson’s Hope. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a mission of your choice.
