December 1, 1938 – January 11, 2021
Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vincenzo Salvati on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Vincenzo was predeceased by his parents Domenico and Giuseppina, as well as his younger brother Romilio and infant daughter Tina.
Vincenzo is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beatrice; daughters Giuseppina (Joe) Racic and Jessica (Daniel) Leone; and six grandchildren Damiano, Mateo, Stefan, Stella Racic along with Giada and Vincenzo Leone. His grandchildren were the lights of his life and he cherished every moment with them.
Vincenzo will be dearly missed by his loving brother Ascanio (Elisa) Salvati; sister in-law Rosa Salvati and sister in-law Angela (Francesco) Dicostanzo. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Vincenzo was born on December 1, 1938 in Villa Santa Lucia, Italy. In June of 1958 he and his family immigrated to Prince Rupert, BC, Canada. Immigrating to Canada was the start of a new life for Vincenzo.
Vincenzo had a deep adoration for the outdoors. He loved hunting and often brought his wife with him to be his sidekick. He often credited her with being the best deer spotter ever. Vincenzo was an avid fisherman, one of his most favorite places to be was out in the open water. He had so many stories of “catching the big one”.
His other passion was dancing. The man loved the oldies and was famous for his very unique dance moves which will never be forgotten.
Vincenzo was extremely passionate about his garden. He would beam with pride when people would comment on his garden. He loved sharing his harvest with friends, family and neighbours.
Vincenzo will be forever known for his big heart, homemade wine and strong work ethic. He loved his family fiercely and treasured his many friendships.
Thank you for being a wonderful husband, father and nonno. Until we meet again, we love you, we will miss you and you will be carried in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
