Bertha Van Emmerik
April 20, 1916 – Dec. 6, 2015
God needed a wise and gentle angel, so in her 100th year he called Mom home. After a long and healthy life, she
suffered a stroke and passed away quickly in Royal Inland Hospital.
Predeceased by husband John, son John, son Cornelius (Sharon), grandsons Daniel and Michael Van Emmerik,
great granddaughter Georgia and numerous brothers and sisters in Holland.
Survived by daughter Johanna Nedoborski of Kamloops, daughter Elizabeth (Bob) Justason of Surrey and
extended family and daughter Wilhelmina Van Emmerik of Kelowna. Also survived by daughter-in-law Chris
Van Emmerik of OK Falls, granddaughter-in-law Maggie Van Emmerik of OK Falls, and sister Toni in Holland.
Grandchildren: Jim (Anet) Van Emmerik, Matt (Klaudia) Van Emmerik, Tracie (Gary) Fielding, Debbie Van
Emmerik, Jamie (Patti), & Julie & Jeanie Nedoborski.
Great Grandchildren: Samantha, Alexandra, Finley, Melissa, Ryan, Ethan.
The family immigrated to Canada and settled in B.C. After many years of raising their children on a farm, they
retired to the Okanagan. After her husband passed away, Bertha relocated to Kamloops to be near family. For
the past ten years she enjoyed the lifestyle and companionship of the residents and staff at Berwick on the Park.
The family would like to thank all R.I.H. Staff for their care.
Service at Berwick Chapel on December 12 @ 1:30 p.m.
She will be dearly missed.
