1940 – 2018
He loved his family more than anything and for that reason he fought long and hard to stay with us. But on August 4, 2018, his body could no longer hold out and so Ivan came to the end of his journey here on earth.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Esther, sons Chad, Jody (Tanya), Jason (Naomi), Jeremy (Lizzie) and his daughter Tammy (Ivan.) Also missing their Papa/Grandpapa are grandchildren Liam, Mariel, Levi, Jaron, Joash, Callan, Leliana, Eliya and Wyatt.
Ivan was born in Kamloops on October 23, 1940. He lived many years in Kelowna before moving to the Kamloops area.
There will be an informal gathering to celebrate Ivan’s life on Monday, August 27, at 1 PM in the Oak Room at the North Shore Community Centre, 730 Cottonwood Avenue. After the time of socializing and sharing memories of Ivan, the family would like to invite any who would wish to join them for a memorial walk on the nature trail at MacArthur Island. Ivan spent many hours in this area, breathing in the oxygen rich air, feeding the squirrels and meeting his friends before moving on to work out at the “Caribbean” workout stations.
Even though Ivan is no longer with us, his legacy of unconditional love and treating others the way you would wish to be treated will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
